Acceptable Use

Townsite hosts websites for local businesses. To keep every site on our service safe and trusted, these rules apply to your site, your change requests and anything you send us.

1.Not allowed

  • anything illegal, or promoting illegal goods or services;
  • content you don't have the right to use, such as someone else's photos, logos or text;
  • false or misleading claims, fake reviews, or pretending to be another business or person;
  • harassment, threats, or hate directed at people for who they are;
  • sexually explicit material;
  • malware, phishing, or anything that tries to trick visitors or harm their devices;
  • spam, or collecting visitors' personal information without telling them;
  • other people's private information posted without their permission;
  • trying to break into, overload or get around the limits of Townsite or another client's site.

2.What we do about it

If something on a site breaks these rules, we'll usually ask you to change it first. If it's serious (for example malware, or a legal complaint), we may remove it or pause the site right away, and then tell you why.

Repeated or serious problems can lead to closing the account, as described in the Terms.

3.Report a problem

See something on a site we host that shouldn't be there, or think your work is being used without permission? Email us with the page address and what's wrong.
