Privacy Policy

• Account details: your name, email address, and the businesses and team members on your account.
• Business details: what you or your business have made public (name, address, hours, phone, photos, your existing website and listings), and anything you add in your dashboard.
• Billing: your plan, payment history and the card brand and last four digits. Your full card number goes to Stripe, never to us.
• What you send us: change requests, comments, photos and files, likes and comments on designs, and emails.
• Domain registrations: the contact details a registry requires to register a domain in your name.
• Technical data: when a design link is opened we record the time, IP address and browser type, so we know the link reached you. Our servers also keep short-lived logs for security.
• Visitor stats for your site: page views counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track individual visitors.

• to design, build, host and update your website;
• to sign you in, bill you and send receipts;
• to email you about your site, requests and account (you can turn off most of these in Settings);
• to keep the service secure and fix problems.

To make designs for a business, we look at information that business has already made public, such as its website, map listing and social pages. We may email the business's public address to show it the designs. If you'd rather we didn't, reply to that email or write to us and we'll stop and delete the designs we made for you.

We share only what each company needs to do its job for us:

• Stripe: payments, receipts and the billing portal.
• Cloudflare: hosting for this app and every client site, file storage, domains and visitor stats.
• Resend: sending email (it may tell us whether an email was delivered).
• Supabase: our database.
• Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.

These companies may process data in the United States and elsewhere. We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a buyer if Townsite is ever sold (we'd tell you first).

We only use cookies needed to run the site: to keep you signed in and to remember likes on design pages. No ads, no tracking. Details are on the Cookies page.

We keep your information while you're a client. After you close your account, we delete it, except records we must keep for taxes and accounting (like invoices), which we keep as long as the law requires. Designs made for a business that never subscribed are deleted when that business asks, or when we no longer need them.

You can see and change most of your information in your dashboard, and download a copy of it from Settings (“Download my data”). Email us to correct something or have it deleted, and Ashton will take care of it. You can also ask to close your account from Settings.

Everything is sent over https. Sign-in uses one-time codes and links instead of passwords. Invite links are long random codes that can be turned off. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you.

Townsite is a service for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 18.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email account owners first.
